The ODU connects to an antenna thatenables radio communication and can be mounted on a pole or wall.The ODU connects to the IDU via a CAT5e cable.ODUs are available in different frequencies and regulations in theranges: 2.3-2.7GHz, 4.9-5.95GHz.The ODU comes in two different form factors depending on the type ofantenna:• ODU with integrated 1ft flat panel antenna. This unitcontains both the ODU and antenna as a single unit housed in aweatherproof casing.• ODU with a connector for an external antenna. The unitis fitted with an N-type connector. An external antenna canextend the range of the link, and in some cases, may help toreduce environmental interferences.Various external antennas are available for the WinLink™ 1000operating frequencies.Figure 2-10: ODU with integrated antenna
