DM-3200 Release Notes1 TASCAM DM-3200 Release Notes V1.50MIDI controlExternal MIDI devices can now be operated from aDM-3200, using MIDI Control Change messages andMIDI Program Change messages using the MIDI controller,MIDI fader, and MIDI Mixer screens.Remote operation through MMCDM-3200 Ver1.20 allows you to remotely operate the trans-port functions of external devices through MMC (MIDIMachine Control). Device control is carried out throughthe MIDI IN/OUT port. The USB port cannot be used forthis purpose.Selection of external devices for transport control is doneon the REMOTE/MACHINE CTRL screen. For details, pleasesee “Selecting devices for transport control” on page 93 ofthe DM-3200 Owner’s Manual. As a result of this additionalfunction, the following information is added to “Table 8.3:Supported transport machine control devices” on page 93.Device Screen display Control typeMIDI open loop MMC Open MMMC closed loop MMC Full MFigure 5: Supported transport machine control devicesadded in Ver 1.20Some devices, such as the Alesis HD-24, only support alimited range of functions over MMC, and may not supportclosed loop MMC control.The MMC ID is set from the ID field on the MACHINECTRL screen, selectable between 1 and 127 using theJOG/DATA dial.These numbers correspond to 0 through 126 in the MMCprotocol, so the controlled device may require you to set anID of 0 to match the ‘1’ on the DM-3200, for example.
