TASCAM HS-20 638 – Take modeCombining takesYou can combine a specified take with another one.NOTEYou cannot combine takes in the following cases.• The bit lengths, the numbers of channels or thesampling frequencies are different.• The file size after combining the takes exceeds the MaxFile Size shown on the REC SETUP/FILE FORMAT screens.• The open capacity of the media is less than the file sizeof the second take to be combined.1. Press the HOME key on the front of the unit to open theHome screen.2. Set the take that will be the first half of the combined take asthe current take.3. Touch the EDIT button to open the pull-up menu.Touch the Combine button on the pull-up menu.4. When the take selection screen opens, touch the e buttonof the take to be combined with the current take.(The yellow icon indicates the first take to be used in thecombination, which was as selected in step 3.)5. A confirmation message appears, and an interval of4-seconds in total before and after the take combinationpoint will be played repeatedly.Touch the OK button or press the ENTER key to combine thetakes.Touch the CANCEL button or press the EXIT/CANCEL keyto stop the repeat playback and reopen the take selectionscreen.6. While combining, a progress bar is shown in the pop-upwindow.When combining is complete, the pop-up window willdisappear.NOTE• The file name of the first take is used for the combined take.• The timecode information from the first take is used in thecombined take.• If the combined number of mark points of the takes exceeds100, the 101st and subsequent ones will be lost. These markpoints cannot be recovered with UNDO.CAUTIONIt is possible to combine takes that are already in use intimeline or playlist mode.If you combine such takes, an error pop-up appears whenyou attempt to play the corresponding region/entry.
