CUSTOMIZINGINDEXCONTENTSINDEXCONTENTS 5151Working with multiple toolsThe Wacom Tablet control panel is designed to help you customize and keep track of your Intuos3 toolsettings. The tool you use to open the control panel is automatically selected, and the appropriate tabs forthat tool are displayed.To add a tool to the control panel’s TOOL list, simply use the tool on your Intuos3 tablet.• When a new tool is placed on the tablet for the first time, it will function with the appropriate defaultsettings for that tool, and not the custom settings of other tools, even if they are identical devices. If theWacom Tablet control panel is open, the tool is automatically added to the T OOL list and you cancustomize the tool by changing the tab settings.• When you select a tool that you have added to the T OOL list, the appropriate tab settings for that tool aredisplayed. Any changes you make to the tab settings will then apply to that tool. Your changes takeeffect immediately.To remove a selected tool from the TOOL list, click on the TOOL list’s [ – ] button. In the dialog box thatappears, click D ELETE to confirm your selection. The selected tool is removed from the list, along with anycustom settings you may have created for it. (A removed tool can be added back to the T OOL list by placingit back onto the tablet.)Note: The FUNCTIONS icon cannot be removed from the T OOL list.The TOOL list displays anicon for the tabletFUNCTIONS and for eachIntuos3 tool that has beenused on the tablet.Each Intuos3 tool has a Tool ID that makes it unique. Any customsettings apply only to the specific tool for which they were made.Identical Intuos3 tools will appear as numbered devices. Theselected tool is highlighted.Removes theselected tool.The FUNCTIONSicon cannot bedeleted.The button isinactive when thereis only one item inthe list.If application-specificsettings have not beenadded, the ALL icon isdisplayed and the toolsettings apply to allapplications. Tab settings apply only to theselected tool and application.Tip: You can give each tool a different name by double-clickingon the tool’s icon and entering a new name. For example,“Drawing Pen” or “Paint Brush”. You cannot rename theFUNCTIONS icon.
