3.6 Noise Control and Measures for Harmonic Suppression3-273 Wiring and Connection3.6 Noise Control and Measures for Harmonic SuppressionThis section describes the wiring for noise control and the DC reactor for harmonic suppression.3.6.1 Wiring for Noise ControlThe SERVOPACK uses microprocessors. Therefore it may receive switching noise from peripheral devices. To prevent the noise from the SERVOPACK or the peripheral devices from causing a malfunction of any oneof these devices, take the following precautions against noise as required.• Position the input reference device and noise filter as close to the SERVOPACK as possible.• Always install a surge absorber in the relay, solenoid and electromagnetic contactor coils.• Do not bundle or run the servomotor main circuit cables together with the I/O signal cables or the encodercables in the same duct. Keep the servomotor main circuit cables separated from the I/O signal cables andencoder cables by at least 30 cm.• Do not share the power supply with an electric welder or electrical discharge machine. When the SERVO-PACK is placed near a high-frequency generator, install a noise filter on the input side of the power supplycables. As for the wiring of noise filter, refer to (1) Noise Filter shown below.• Take the grounding measures correctly. As for the grounding, refer to (2) Correct Grounding.• Because the SERVOPACK is designed as an industrial device, it provides no mecha-nism to prevent noise interference.• The SERVOPACK uses high-speed switching elements in the main circuit. Thereforeperipheral devices may receive switching noise. If the equipment is to be used nearprivate houses or if radio interference is a problem, take countermeasures againstnoise.• If installation conditions by the EMC directive must be met, refer to DC Power InputΣ-V Series User's Manual Setup Rotational Motor (Manual No.: SIEP S800000 80).
