Turn the transceiver’s power off, and disconnect allcables from the transceiver.2. Screw the mounting plate “A” to the FC-30 using thesupplied screws (Figure 1).3. Remove the four rubber lugs and their four screws (Fig-ure 2), then position mounting plates “B” and “C” sothat their holes align with those on the FT-897D, andsecure using the supplied screws (Figure 3).4. To install the FC-30, position the FC-30 so that themounting plate “A” on the side fits into the mountingplate “B” on the FT-897D (Figure 3), then screw themounting plate “C” (on the FT-897D) to the FC-30 us-ing the supplied screws (Figure 1).See page 41 for connection of the FC-30/FT-897D and op-erating procedure.Do not install the supplied FC-30 Mounting Screwsif you are not installing the FC-30! Also, do notuse an improper screw for mounting the FC-30!
