105Using NavigationEntering destinationSelect the letters one after the other by turning theright rotary control and press the control to con-firm. The selected letter appears enlarged at theright of the display.Use the multifunction button to delete thelast confirmed letter.The complete entry can be deleted by pressingmultifunction button for more than2 seconds.Already entered letters are displayed inversely. Tohelp, the name of the location closest to the previ-ous entry is displayed. The unit offers only the pos-sible remaining letters for selection. If no otherentries are available, the unit completes the placename automatically.To accept the entry, press and hold the right rotarycontrol for more than 2 seconds or select thesmall check mark and briefly press the right ro-tary control .If the complete location name was entered or com-pleted automatically and the location name isunique in the country of destination, the location isaccepted.The programme will return to the destination en-try.If an incomplete location entry was confirmed, thelocation selection list is displayed.The location name most similar to the entry ap-pears in capital letters in the location selection list.The scroll marks indicate that other locations, sort-ed in alphabetical order, can be selected.To make your selection turn the right rotarycontrol and press the control to confirm. (See”General instructions” on page 102.)If a definite entry is given, the programme returnsto the destination entry.The location distinguishing list is displayed if theselection is ambiguous.Select the required location using the right rotarycontrol and press the control to confirm.The programme returns to the destination entry.Entering destination town postal codeSelect the postal code numbers one after anotherby turning the right rotary control and press toconfirm. The selected number appears enlarged atthe right of the display.To accept the entry, press and hold the right rotarycontrol for more than 2 seconds or select thesmall check mark and briefly press the rightrotary control .The display then shows either the destination cor-responding to the postal code or, if the postal codeis shared among several towns, a list containingthese towns.Select the required location using theright rotary control and press to confirm.If more than 20 locations share the same post code,the display will show the Location Input menu in-stead of the above-mentioned list. In that case, thetown name is to be entered as described in ”Enter-ing destination” on page 105.
