146Internet (WAP) FunctionsInternet (WAP) FunctionsWith WAP, you can view current informationfrom the Internet. This information is shown in aspecific format, depending upon the display capa-bilities of the unit.Note:Internet access may require registration with a net-work operator or provider.We cannot guarantee the accessibility of WAPpages.Before the first connection, an access profile mustbe created or activated. Instructions on how to dothis can be found in section ”Settings” onpage 150.Calling up WAP menuCall up the Communications menu by pressingthe key.Press multifunction button .After a short time, the start page specified in theprofile (”Settings” on page 150) will be displayed.Connecting / terminating WAP con-nectionBy pressing the multifunction button , theWAP connection can be terminated at any time.Navigation in WAP pagesNote:Navigation in WAP pages can differ from page topage. This depends on the page content and thusthe programmer of the page.The general rules are described below.By turning the right rotary control , you canscroll through the page content. On the right sideof the display, there is a half-circle upon which asmall ring moves. This small ring shows your cur-rent position on the WAP page, and it changes itsposition when you turn the right rotary control .There are 3 different keys, and the pressing of theright rotary control through which the variousfunctions can be applied, depending upon pro-gramming of the WAP page.If a function is assigned to pressing the right rotarycontrol, the function text will be shown in front ofthe half-circle in the display. For example, Link orOK can be displayed.By pressing the right rotary control , this func-tion is then executed.A function can also be assigned to multifunctionbuttons 7 - 9.The function text will be displayed above the cor-responding multifunction button.By pressing one of the multifunction buttons, thecorresponding function will be executed.With some WAP pages it may be necessary to en-ter text. To enter text, proceed as described in ”En-tering WAP address” on page 147.
