The SmartSwitch 2000 Chassis View2-10Viewing Chassis Information• Bridge Status opens a window that provides an overview of bridginginformation for each port, and allows you to access all other bridge-relatedoptions. Refer to the Bridging chapter in the SPECTRUM Element ManagerTools Guide for more information.• Broadcast Suppression allows you to set a threshold on the number ofbroadcast packets issued from each port on the SmartSwitch 2000 device whenit is operating in traditional switch (bridge) mode. See Broadcast Suppression,on page 2-72.• Frame Translation will appear in the Module menu if your SmartSwitch 2000has an installed HSIM-F6. Refer to Chapter 6, FDDI Applications, forinformation on this menu selection.• Find Source Address opens a window that allows you to search the 802.1dFiltering Database of the SmartSwitch 2000 to determine which bridginginterface a specified source MAC address is communicating through. If theMAC address is found, the port display will flash to indicate the correct bridgeinterface. Refer to Using Find Source Address Functions, on page 2-26, formore information.• Performance Graph visually displays performance between all bridging portson the SmartSwitch 2000; see the Bridging chapter in the SPECTRUM ElementManager Tools Guide for more information.• Spanning Tree allows you to set bridge parameters when it is operating usingthe Spanning Tree Algorithm (STA) – the method that bridges use to decide thecontrolling (root) bridge when two or more bridges are in parallel; see theBridging chapter in the SPECTRUM Element Manager Tools Guide for moreinformation.• SmartTrunk invokes the SmartTrunk Configuration and Status Screen, whichenables you to group interfaces logically to achieve greater bandwidthbetween devices, if both devices support the SmartTrunk feature. There is nolimit to the number of ports that can be included in a single “trunk,” nor isthere a limit to the number of trunked “instances” that can be supported. Referto the Bridging chapter in the SPECTRUM Element Manager Tools Guide formore information.• Filtering Database allows you to monitor and manage bridge forwarding andfiltering across each port of the SmartSwitch 2000; see the Bridging chapter inthe SPECTRUM Element Manager Tools Guide for more information.• Duplex Modes allows you to set Duplex Mode operation for standardEthernet interfaces on your SmartSwitch 2000; see the Bridging chapter in theSPECTRUM Element Manager Tools Guide for more information.• Enable Bridge enables bridging across the entire SmartSwitch 2000.• Disable Bridge disables bridging across the entire SmartSwitch 2000.
