Viewing Chassis Information2-21The SmartSwitch 2000 Chassis ViewThe I/F Summary window provides a variety of descriptive information abouteach interface on your device, as well as statistics which display each interface’sperformance.The following descriptive information is provided for each interface:UpTimeThe UpTime field lists the amount of time, in a days, hh:mm:ss format, that thedevice has been running since the last start-up.IndexThe index value assigned to each interface on the device.TypeThe type of the interface, distinguished by the physical/link protocol(s) runningimmediately below the network layer.DescriptionA text description of the interface.Physical StatusDisplays the current physical status — or operational state — of the interface:Online or Offline.Logical StatusDisplays the current logical status — or administrative state — of the interface:Up or Down.Interface Performance Statistics/Bar GraphsThe statistical values (and, where available, the accompanying bar graphs) to theright of the interface description fields provide a quick summary of interfaceperformance. You can select the statistical value you want to display and the unitsin which you want those values displayed by using the two menu fields directlyabove the interface display area, as follows:1. In the right-most menu field, click on the down arrow and select the unit inwhich you wish to display the selected statistic: Load, Raw Counts, or Rate.2. Once you have selected the base unit, click on the down arrow in the left-mostfield to specify the statistic you’d like to display. Note that the options availablefrom this menu will vary depending on the base unit you have selected.NOTEBar graphs are only available when Load is the selected base unit; if you select RawCounts or Rate, the Bar Graph column will be removed from the interface display.
