The SmartSwitch 2000 Chassis View2-54Managing the HubConfiguring Priority Queuing Based on MAC-layer InformationYou can use the MAC Based Priority Configuration window, Figure 2-21,to determine packet queuing based upon the packet’s Source and/orDestination MAC address, as well as the packet’s frame Type. These priorityentries, based on the frame’s MAC-layer information, are maintained in thectPriorityExtMACTable. You can create up to 1024 priority entries for queuingframes based upon on MAC-layer information.Figure 2-21. The MAC Based Priority Configuration WindowTo access the MAC Based Priority Configuration window:1. Click on Device to access the Device menu.2. Click on Priority Configuration, and then select MAC Based from the menu.The MAC Based Priority Configuration window will appear.The MAC Based Priority Configuration window contains the followinginformation:Current Priority EntriesThe Current Priority Entries list box displays any MAC-based priority entries thathave been configured for the SmartSwitch 2000 device. It has four columns:• MAC Address, which identifies the physical address for which a frametransmit priority entry has been configured.Click Add to enter aMAC Address to whichyou want to assign ahigher prioritytransmission queue.Select whether you wantthe address type to bedestination, source, oreither type.Determine whether to apply thepriority to all frames with the givenaddress and SA/DA type, or onlyto frames of a specific type.Finally, select a priority level,and click Apply.
