Entry LightingThe entry lighting system turns on the reading anddome lamps and the backlighting to the exterior lampcontrol when a door is opened or if you press the remotekeyless entry transmitter unlock button. If activated bythe transmitter, the lighting will remain active forabout 25 seconds. The entry lighting system uses thelight sensor; it must be dark outside in order for thelamps to turn on. The lamps turn off about 25 secondsafter the last door is closed. They will dim to off ifthe ignition key is placed in ON, or immediatelydeactivate if the power locks are activated.Parade DimmingThis feature prohibits dimming of the instrument paneldisplays and backlighting during daylight hours when thekey is in the ignition and the headlamps are on. Thisfeature operates with the light sensor and is fullyautomatic. When the light sensor reads darkness outsideand the parking lamps are active, the instrumentpanel displays can be adjusted by sliding the instrumentpanel brightness lever toward the symbol to brightenor away from the symbol to dim the lighting.Reading LampsThe reading lamps are located on the overhead console.These lamps come on automatically when any door isopened.For manual operation, press the button next to eachlamp to turn it on. Press it again to turn the lamp off.If the reading lamps are left on, they automatically shutoff 10 minutes after the ignition has been turned off.Accessory Power OutletsWith accessory power outlets, you can plug in auxiliaryelectrical equipment such as a cellular telephone orCB radio.The front accessory power outlet is located in theashtray on the instrument panel below the climatecontrol system. The outlet will have a cigarette lighterif your vehicle has this option. Remove the cigarettelighter to access the outlet.The rear accessory power outlet is located on the backof the center console.3-25
