To start thevehicle, place the transmitter inthe center console storage areatransmitter pocket with the buttonsfacing to the front of the vehicle.Then, with the vehicle in P (Park) orN (Neutral), press the brake pedaland the ignition control knob. SeeStarting the Engine on page 921,for additional information about thevehicle's electronic keyless ignition.Replace the transmitter battery assoon as possible.Battery ReplacementNotice: When replacing thebattery, do not touch any of thecircuitry on the transmitter.Static from your body coulddamage the transmitter.1. Remove the key from thetransmitter by pressing the thinbutton near the bottom of thetransmitter and pulling the keyout. Do not pull the key outwithout pressing the button.2. Separate the transmitter with aflat, thin object inserted intothe slot on the side of thetransmitter.Do not try to separate thetransmitter by inserting a flat,thin object into the key slot.This will permanently damagethe transmitter.3. Remove the old battery. Do notuse a metal object.4. Insert the new battery, positiveside facing down. Replace with aCR2032 or equivalent battery.5. Snap the transmitter backtogether.6. Reinstall the key into thetransmitter.
