Doing so creates the riskof hearing damage.• If you are using headphones that require an adaptorplug, make sure you do not leave the adaptor pluggedin when removing the headphones.Connecting an optionally available pedal let’s you performpedal operations that add more versatility to your keyboardplay. For information about the types of effects that can beapplied by pressing the pedal, see “Ped.Assign (PedalAssign)” (page E-126).You can connect audio equipment or a music amplifier to theDigital Keyboard and then play through external speakers formore powerful volume and better sound quality.• Whenever connecting a device to the Digital Keyboard,first use the L-2 (MAIN VOLUME) knob to set thevolume to a low level. After connecting, you can adjustthe volume to the level you want.• Whenever you connect any device to the DigitalKeyboard, be sure to read the user documentation thatcomes with the device.Use commercially available connecting cords to connect theexternal audio equipment to the Digital Keyboard’s T-9 (LINEOUT) jacks as shown in Figure 1. LINE OUT R jack output isright channel sound, while LINE OUT L/MONO jack output isleft channel sound. It is up to you to purchase connectingcords like the ones shown in the illustration for connection ofaudio equipment. Normally in this configuration you must setthe audio equipment’s input selector to the setting thatspecifies the terminal (such as AUX IN) to which the DigitalKeyboard is connected. Use the L-2 (MAIN VOLUME) knobto adjust the volume level.Use a commercially available connecting cord to connect theamplifier to either of the Digital Keyboard’s T-9 (LINE OUT)jacks as shown in Figure 2. LINE OUT R jack output is rightchannel sound, while LINE OUT L/MONO jack output is leftchannel sound. Connecting to the LINE OUT L/ MONO jackonly outputs a mixture of both channels. It is up to you topurchase a connecting cord like the one shown in theillustration for connection of the amplifier.
