Use the R-17 (u, i) buttons to move thecursor, use the dial or the R-14 (–, +) buttons tochange the value at the cursor position, andthen press the R-16 (ENTER) button.• If you have already specified a range using the locatorscreen (page E-75), you can copy that range to thisscreen by holding down the L-13 (REPEAT) button.7. After specifying the recording start point andend point, press the L-17 (START/STOP) button.• This starts punch-in playback. You can perform fastforward and fast backward operations during punch-inplayback using the operations described in step 6under “To start re-recording from a particular locationduring playback (Manual Punch-in)” (page E-71).• You can start punch-in playback from one measureprior to the current recording start point by pressing theL-13 (REPEAT) button which causes the ?indicator to appear on the display.8. When playback reaches the re-record point youspecified, start playing something on thekeyboard.• Punch-in recording will start automatically whenplayback reaches the record start point you specified.The C-6 (RECORD) button will light when recordingstarts.• Recording stops and punch-in recording is exitedautomatically when the record end point you specifiedis reached. At this time the C-6 (RECORD) button willbecome unlit.• If you want to stop recording before the record endpoint you specified is reached, press the L-17 (START/STOP) button. Any previously recorded data in thetrack that comes after the point you stopped punch-inrecording will remain in the track.• When “EOT” (End of Track) is selected for therecording start point, the start point for punch-inrecording is the end of the track.• When “OFF” is selected for the recording end point,punch-in recording will not stop automatically becauseno end point is specified. To stop punch-in recording inthis case, press the L-17 (START/STOP) button.The header of each song contains “header settings”, whichare settings that were in effect on the Digital Keyboard whenrecording was performed.
