Change the protocol settings.To change the currently active protocol, select the settingfrom the tree structure. A dialog box opens. Select thedesired protocol from the dropdown list (Figure 18). Afterclicking “ok” the setting will be activated.The rest of the settings can be changed similarly, but valuesare edited in the tree (Figure 19). Change the communication timeout value5.2.4 PC Tools for 9000xDriveYou can configure the drive parameters with the 9000xdrive.Some of the OPTE9 parameters can be configured withthe 9000xdrive. However, it is recommended to usethe NCIPConfig tool for the OPTE9 Dual Port Ethernetconfiguration in the 9000x drives.You need to have a PC with an Ethernet connection andthe 9000xdrive tool installed. To install the 9000xdrive, startthe installation program from the CD or download it fromwww.Eaton.com website. After starting the installationprogram, follow the on-screen instructions.Once the program is installed successfully, you can launchit by selecting it in the Windows Start menu. Select Help--> Contents if you want more information about thesoftware features.Before using the 9000xdrive, you need to configure theoption board IP settings with NCIPConfig. If the optionboard does not have valid IP settings you will not be able toconnect with the 9000xdrive.Step 1. Connect your PC to the ethernet network withan ethernet cable.You can also connect the PC directly to the device using acrossover cable. This option may be needed if your PC doesnot support Automatic crossover function.Step 2. In order to connect to the drive, you need to selectthe active drive first. In the “Select the active drive” dialog (seeFigure 21), select the drive you want to connect to.Then press the “Set Active Drive” button.
