A positive value indicates that PTP time is fast compared to IRIG-B time.6.3.16 Direct inputsACTUAL VALUES STATUS DIRECT INPUTSThe AVERAGE MSG RETURN TIME is the time taken for direct output messages to return to the sender in a direct input/outputring configuration (this value is not applicable for non-ring configurations). This is a rolling average calculated for the lastten messages. There are two return times for dual-channel communications modules.The UNRETURNED MSG COUNT values (one per communications channel) count the direct output messages that do notmake the trip around the communications ring. The CRC FAIL COUNT values (one per communications channel) count thedirect output messages that have been received but fail the CRC check. High values for either of these counts can indicateon a problem with wiring, the communication channel, or one or more relays. The UNRETURNED MSG COUNT and CRC FAILCOUNT values can be cleared using the CLEAR DIRECT I/O COUNTERS command.The DIRECT INPUT 1 to DIRECT INPUT (32) values represent the state of each direct input.
