27Core temperature probe en-usIf you remove the core temperature probe duringoperation of the appliance, all settings are reset and youhave to apply them again.Setting the core temperature9 CAUTIONDamage to the core temperature probe:The core temperature probe may be damaged if thedistance between the grill heating element and thecore temperature probe is too small. Make surethat the distance between the grill heating elementand the core temperature probe or the cable of thecore temperature probe is a few centimeters. Themeat may expand during the cooking process.9 CAUTIONDamage to the core temperature probe:Do not trap the cable of the core temperatureprobe in the appliance door.1. Insert the food to cook in the cooking compartmentwith a core temperature probe inserted. Insert thecore temperature probe into the socket in the top rightof the cooking compartment and close the appliancedoor.2. Turn the function selector to the desired heating type.3. Use the rotary selector to set the cookingcompartment temperature.4. Touch the + symbol. Use the rotary selector tochange the set core temperature for the food andconfirm with +.The core temperature set must be higher than thecurrent core temperature.5. The appliance heats with the set heating type.The display indicates the current temperature, andbelow that the set core temperature.You can change the set core temperature at any time.6. After preheating, the display shows an estimatedcooking time approx. 5–20 minutes into the cookingtime. Touch the ( symbol to display the current coretemperature.Once the set core temperature is reached, a signalsounds. Cooking is automatically ended. Confirm with ™and turn the function selector to 0.Estimated cooking timeAfter preheating, if the appliance has a temperaturesetting above 100 °C, when the core temperature probeis inserted, the display shows an estimated cooking timeapprox. 5–20 minutes into the cooking time.The estimated cooking time is continually updated. Thelonger the cooking process lasts, the more precise theestimated cooking time becomes. Do not open theappliance door; this distorts the estimated cooking time.The estimated cooking time is displayed in normaloperation and in the automatic program.The current core temperature is shown in the displaywhen you touch the ( symbol.The estimated cooking time display can be deactivated inthe basic settings so that the current core temperature isshown instead.~ "Basic settings" on page 34Notes▯ The measurable range is 15 °C to 99 °C. Results depend on the qualityand composition of the food.For hygiene reasons, critical foodstuffs such as fish andgame should reach a core temperature of 143 - 158° F(62 – 70 °C); for poultry and minced meat this should beas high as 176 - 185° F (80 – 85 °C).
