42Detailed OperationADS-B TrafficIn the “ALL” mode, all targets, regardless of theiraltitude, are shown. In ±2000 foot mode, only targetsthat are within 2000 feet above or below the ownshipaltitude are shown.Altitude Option (Relative/Absolute)The altitude option lets you select between relativeand absolute pressure altitude in hundreds of feet.The altitude option choice is shown on the upperleft corner of the screen while in the graphic displayoption. When Relative Altitude is selected, the altitudevalue on the traffic is shown relative to your altitude.A “+” indicates the target is above your altitude. A“-” indicates the target is below your altitude. Forinstance, if a value of +80 is shown, the value meansthat the indicated traffic is 8000 feet above your alti-tude. When Absolute Altitude is selected, if a value of121 is shown, the value means that the indicated traf-fic is at 12,100 feet absolute pressure altitude. Abso-lute Pressure altitude does not show a + or -. Remem-ber that Absolute Pressure altitude can be substantiallydifferent than the baro-corrected altitude shown on thealtimeter in your aircraft.Flight PlanThe Flight Plan option controls the display of theFlight Plan course line. Pressing the Menu Item keynext to the Flight Plan option toggles between showingand not showing the Flight Plan route line.Traffic Map OrientationThe Traffic Map Orientation option lets you choosebetween a 360-degree compass rose or an arc thatcovers about 90 degrees over the top of the display.Your aircraft position (ownship) is shown by an emptywhite triangle near the center of the display. The Trafficfunction display is always in the Track Up mode.Press the Next Page key to display the next pageof menu items.Traffic Menu Option Page 3The third menu option page of the ADS-B Traf-fic function lets you select options for the choices ofGraphic or Text Mode, Enter FID (Flight ID), and thedisplay of traffic target Labels.ADS-B Traffic Menu Items (Page 3)Display ModeThe display mode lets you select either a graphic ortext version of traffic information.Graphic DisplayThe graphic traffic display shows your location,nearby traffic, and information about the traffic.Text DisplayThe text traffic display shows the distance to thetraffic item, flight id, category, position, speed, andaltitude. The currently selected target is shown ingreen. The traffic list is sorted by distance with theclosest traffic to your current position shown on thetop line. The total number of targets tracked is shownin the upper left corner. Up to 12 of the nearest targetsare listed.
