43Detailed OperationTIS-A Traffic (TRAF) FunctionThe GMX 200 I/O supports the Traffic InformationServices – Addressed (TIS-A) function when interfacedto a third party TIS-A sensor. The traffic function,when interfaced to the Garmin GTX 330 is capable ofdisplaying traffic targets supplied by that sensor. Stan-dard TCAS-type symbology is used and several menuoptions are available for adjusting traffic presentationand sensor operation. Review the Limitations sectionin the front of this guide for the limitations that applyto traffic data.TIS-A Traffic Page with Menu ItemsNOTE: TIS-A is not a collision avoidance system.It is an aid to visual acquisition and does not re-lieve the flight crew of their responsibility to “seeand avoid.” There are no evasive aircraft maneu-vers authorized, recommended, or provided foras a result of displayed TIS-A targets. Refer tothe TIS-A Sensor documentation for additionalinformation.TIS-A TrafficADS-B Traffic Text DisplayEnter FIDThe Enter Flight ID option allows you to edit yourbroadcasted Flight ID when the editing function isenabled. The Function “smart” keys at the bottom ofthe screen change to arrow keys. Use the UP/DOWNarrow keys to change the characters. Use the LEFT/RIGHT arrow keys to move between characters. Pressthe MENU/ENTER key to save the displayed Flight ID.The Flight ID is only sent when the Flight ID broadcastoption is enabled. Note that the GDL 90 UAT does notallow the space or period characters. The GMX 200must be configured as the UAT’s control panel to makethis function available.LabelThe LABEL menu key toggles the state of thelabels adjacent to the target symbols. Turning labels offwill remove the Flight ID and flight vector.Press the Main Menu key to return to the firstpage of menu items.
