1-6 Notes on Using Your ServerCleaning and Working with Internal DevicesWARNINGDo not disassemble, repair, or alter the server.Never attempt to disassemble, repair, or alter the server on any occasionother than described in this manual. Failure to follow this instruction maycause an electric shock or fire as well as malfunctions of the server.Do not look into the DVD-ROM drive.A laser beam used in the DVD-ROM drive is harmful to the eyes. Do not lookinto or insert a mirror into the drive while the drive is powered. If a laser beamis caught in your eyes, you may lose your eyesight (the laser beam isinvisible).Do not remove the lithium battery.Your server contains the lithium battery. Do not remove the battery. Placingthe lithium close to a fire or in the water may cause an explosion.When the server does not operate appropriately due to the dead lithiumbattery, contact your service representative. Do not disassemble the server toreplace or recharge the battery by yourself.Disconnect the power plug before accessing inside the server, or connectingthe peripherals.Make sure to power off the server and disconnect the power plug from apower outlet before cleaning or installing/removing internal optional devices.Touching any internal device of the server with its power cord connected to apower source may cause an electric shock even of the server is off-powered.Disconnect the power plug from the outlet occasionally and clean the plugwith a dry cloth. Heat will be generated if condensation is formed on a dustyplug, which may cause a fire.CAUTIONAvoid installation in extreme temperature conditions.Immediately after the server is powered off, its internal components such ashard disk drives are very hot. Leave the server until its internal componentsfully cool down before installing/removing any component.Make sure to complete board installation.Always install a board firmly. An incompletely installed board may cause acontact failure, resulting in smoking or fire.Protect the unused connectors with the protective cap.The unused power supply cable connectors are covered with the protectivecap to prevent short circuits and electrical hazards, when removing the powersupply cable connector from the install devices, attach the protective cap tothe connector. Failure to follow this warning may cause a fire or an electricshock.
