9-32 Upgrading Your ServerSetting after installationDepending on the type of the installed board, some settings of the server must be modified by usingthe proper utility (such as the BIOS Setup Utility or the setup utility installed in the board) after theinstallation.Provide the settings correctly according to the information described in the manual provided withthe board.The server scans the PCI bus numbers in the ascending order after the power-on. If the BIOS utilityis stored in the optional ROM mounted on the board, the PCI bus start messages (banners) appear inthe ascending order of the PCI bus numbers.RemovalRemove the board from the PCI board slot in the following procedure.1. See the section "Preparing for Installation and Removal" described earlier to prepare.2. Remove the left side cover.3. Remove the board.4. Assemble the server.5. Turn on the power of the server. Make sure that no error message appears in the POST.If an error message appears, write down the message and contact your servicerepresentative for the maintenance.6. Start the BIOS Setup Utility to set the "Reset Configuration Data" in the "Advanced"menu to "Yes."This is required to update the hardware configuration information. See Chapter 4 fordetails.
