Chapter 4Configuring Your ServerThis chapter describes Basic Input Output System (BIOS) configuration.When you install the server for the first time or install/remove optional devices, thoroughly read thischapter for better understanding and correct setups.SYSTEM BIOS ~ SETUP ~The SETUP utility is provided to make basic hardware configuration for the server. This utility ispre-installed in the flash memory of the server and ready to run.The server is configured with the correct parameters using the SETUP utility and shipped in the bestconditions. Thus, you don't need to use the SETUP utility in most cases. However, you mightwish to use the SETUP utility in the cases described below.IMPORTANT: The SETUP utility is intended for system administrator use only. The SETUP utility allows you to set a password. The server isprovided with two levels of password: Supervisor and User. Withthe Supervisor password, you can view and change all systemparameters of the SETUP utility. With the User password, systemparameters available for viewing and changing are limited. Do not set any password before installing the OS. The server contains the latest version of the SETUP utility. Dialogboxes appear on your SETUP utility, thus, may differ fromdescriptions in this manual. If you find anything unclear, see theonline help or ask your service representative.
