Installing and Connecting a WLAN—Security Switch 43WLAN—Security Switch 2300 Series Installation and Basic Configuration GuideWSS-2370 and 2380 mounting brackets support either front or center mounting. The 2360 mounting brackets supportfront mounting only. The 2350 switch does not have rack mounting brackets but can be installed on a tabletop. To install a WSS, use one of the following procedures.Equipment Rack InstallationYou can install a 2370 or 2380 switch into a front-mount or center-mount equipment rack. You can install a 2360 switchinto a front-mount equipment rack.• Figure 10 shows how to install a 2370 or 2380 switch into a front-mount equipment rack. (Installation of a 2360switch is similar.)• Figure 11 shows how to install a 2370 or 2380 switch into a center-mount equipment rack.Refer to these figures as you perform the procedure.Warning! Earth grounding is required for a WSS installed in a rack. If you arerelying on the rack to provide ground, the rack itself must be grounded with aground strap to the earth ground. Metal screws attaching the switch to the rackprovide ground attachment to the rack. (For translations of this warning, see“Earth Ground Warning” on page 165.)Warning! In the U.S., overcurrent protection must be provided by theinstallation. Branch circuit protection in accordance with National Fire ProtectionAssociation (NFPA) 70, National Electrical Code (NEC) is required. Considerationmust be given to the electrical ratings on the WSS and branch circuitprotection. Do not install equipment such that the branch circuit current andvoltage protection is exceeded. Pay particular attention to the earthingconnection for the supply connections. When using an extension cord or powerstrip, pay attention to the grounding type.Caution! Do not stack 2350 switches. Stacked 2350 switches can overheat and causeloss of equipment functionality or permanent damage.Caution! Ensure adequate airflow around 2350 switches. The 2350 switch usesnatural convection cooling and requires free entry of air. Airflow blockage can cause thesystem to overheat and result in a loss of equipment functionality or permanent damage.
