Installing and Connecting a WLAN—Security Switch 49WLAN—Security Switch 2300 Series Installation and Basic Configuration Guide1 Make sure any insertable power supply is fully seated in the WSS.2 For each power supply that you are using on the WSS, attach a power cord to an AC powersource.3 Plug each power cord into a WSS power supply. The WSS begins booting as soon as you plug in the power cord(s).4 Observe the power supply LED for each connected power supply to verify that the LED issteadily glowing green. This indicates normal power supply operation.5 On the 2370 or 2380 switch only, wait a few seconds, then observe the Mgmt LED to verify thatit is breathing (repeatedly flashing bright green, then fading) to indicate that the WSS hassuccessfully booted and is operating normally.Powering On a 2350To power on a 2350 switch:1 Plug the power supply into an AC power source.2 Plug the power supply into the Power port. The LED turns green when the 2350 is receiving power.Connecting to a Serial Management ConsoleInitial configuration of the WSS requires a connection to the switch’s CLI through the serial console port.Figure 14 shows how to install a serial cable on a 2370 switch. The procedure is the same on an 2360, 2380, or2350 switch. Refer to this figure as you perform the procedure. (For cable requirements, see “Serial ConsoleCable” on page 40.)Note. If the WSS has two power supplies, use a separate AC power source foreach supply to add redundancy. If one power source fails, the switch can continueto operate using the other power source.
