This happens because the User-to-User service 1 only usesSETUP, ALERT and CONNECT messages to convey user signaling. Most of the options for BRI telephones are configured on the telephone andnot the Meridian 1. The BNE/Name and Private Number Display feature doesnot introduce any new Classes of Service or configurable data related to thetelephone. The Classes of Service are used by the BNE feature in the sameway they are used on EuroISDN or QSIG networks for Calling Number IE orName display information. Some BRI telephones cannot handle thepresentation flag in the Calling Number IE. With the prompt TRANS, youcan remove the digits in the CLID sent to the BRI telephone when thepresentation is restricted. For Calling Line Identification Restriction (CLIR),if the BRI telephone provides a presentation indication in the CLIDinformation, the PRES option is not used in LD 27. In all other cases, thepresentation flag is set based on the PRES configuration. If no CLID isprovided by the BRI telephone, the default DN of the Terminal ServiceProfile (TSP) is used. The same rules are used for the public Calling Number,if no private Calling Number is received. When you configure the D-channel in LD 17 for PRI, LD 16 for BRI (respondUUS1 to the RCAP prompt), it means:• the Meridian 1 decodes incoming User-to-User IEs for calls terminatinglocally or originating from this node, if the BNE package is equipped• the Meridian 1 is allowed to send User-to-User IEs to the public networkFeature interactionsCNIR and CNIP/CONPThe CNIR supplementary service takes precedence over the CNIPsupplementary service.
