Chapter 2: Application Module commands 45Meridian Link Release 5C/CCR Release 3C Diagnostic and Maintenance Guideconshare—Meridian 1 console sessionUse the conshare command to pass through to the Meridian 1 interface andconduct a maintenance session from your maint login session.The Application Module or IPE Module is optionally cabled to aMeridian 1 SDI port. Initially, you will be prompted to confirm whether theSDI port is correctly configured. The SDI port must be configured as TTY(DTE) and at 2400 baud rate.Next, you will be prompted to specify the Application Module or IPEModule port that is cabled to the SDI port. The default for the ApplicationModule is /dev/tty02, which represents the third port on the MVME712transition card (connector J8 on the back of the I/O subpanel, SDI LINK onthe universal I/O panel, or card 1 conn 3 on the generic I/O panel). Thedefault for the IPE Module is /dev/tty03, which represents port 3 of the IPEModule.Note: Meridian 1 accepts messages sent in uppercase only; theApplication Module or IPE Module accepts messages sent in mixedcase. Therefore, you must set CAPS LOCK before starting a session.Be sure to unset CAPS LOCK when returning to the ApplicationModule or IPE Module, or your output will appear distorted.Type \C to get back when the session is finished.
