Section 9 TROUBLESHOOTING9-136 Misfeed in the Duplex Unit (Only in duplex copiers)If “Paper misfeed. Open Duplex Unit Cover.” [“PAPER MISFEED.OPEN COVER DUPLEX UNIT.”] is displayed and the misfeed locationindicator shown in the illustration lights, a misfeed has occurred in theDuplex Unit. Perform the following procedure to remove the jammedpaper.1 Pull out the Duplex Unit.2 Open the Duplex Unit cover (shown as 1 in the illustration)and remove the jammed paper without tearing it.* If the paper does happen to tear, remove any loose scrapsfrom inside the copier.3 Open the reversing section cover (shown as 2 in theillustration) and remove the jammed paper without tearing it.* If the paper does happen to tear, remove any loose scrapsfrom inside the copier.4 Close all open covers and replace the Duplex Unit in itsoriginal position in the copier.12
