The colour space of the documentand the settings for the print have to match. This means that if you have set the coloursettings in more than 1 stage of the process described above, you must check if thecolour settings do not counteract with eachother.Job submission-file type-colour management settingsThe way in which you submit a print job to the printer defines in most cases the filetype of the document. If you use a printer driver, the original file type will be changedby the driver into a standard file type. The printer checks the file type of thedocument and based on the file type the printer applies the default colourmanagement settings of the Océ Settings Editor. If you use FTP or LPR to send a job to the printer, the file type is not changed. Thefile is sent to the printer the way in which it was saved in the application you used toPrinter driversThe (Océ Windows printer driver) offers colourmanagement settings. You can select the required colourmanagement settings in the driver or you can indicate touse the printer's default settings. Make sure the coloursettings do not conflict with the colour settings that maybe set in another stage of the process.Note: The Océ HDI driver and thePostScript ® driver do not support the settingsfor colour management. With the drivers youcan only indicate to use the default printersettings for colour management. In this casethe printer will use the colour settings for theHP-GL path defined in the Océ SettingsEditor.3The Océ Settings Editor offers 3 default paths for coloursettings, based on the file type of the document:■ HP-GL path■ TIFF path■ PostScript/PDF pathThese settings are applied when the controller cannotrecognise or detect any colour settings for the file to beprinted.4Stages in the process of making a colour print Priority
