System FeaturesICX-40-700 ICX (International) issued December 1999 3-23To make a DISA call to an outside number:Considerations• Busy override cannot be used for a DISA line.• DISA can be used to access extensions as well as outside numbers.• Paging cannot be accessed from a DISA line.• While dialing an extension number, the * key may be entered to cancel dialing and return to dialtone. The # key may be entered to disconnect.Distinctive RingingDescriptionDistinctive Ringing sets CO/Exchange line calls to ring with a distinctive ring based on the exchangeline. This “ring” also identifies the call as an outside call instead of an inside call.Beginning with CPC version 3.0, calls to a key telephone or DSLT can also be set to distinctiveringing on an extension basis.Door BoxDescriptionThe door box (also called door phone) allows visitors to announce their presence from the office door,etc. When the button on the door box is pressed, one or more phones ring in the System. Whenanswered, a two way conversation is made between the door box and the answering phone.The answering party can operate a connected door opener (if equipped).OperationTo answer a door box:Action Result1. From an outside location, enter the DISA exchange linenumber.DISA dial tone2. If an incoming DISA code is assigned enter the DISA code(up to 10 digits). Otherwise, proceed to step 3.3. Enter the exchange line group number (9 or 81-84)4. Dial the phone number.Action Result1. Answer the door box. (Door box calls ring in on a dedicatedFF key.)Two way conversation possible2. Enter 3 while connected to the door box extension. Door unlocks
