See“Monitoring a Stored Channel.”• To lock out channels so the scannerdoes not stop for a transmission onthose channels, see “Locking OutChannels and Frequencies” on Page 20.TURNING CHANNELSTORAGE BANKS ON ANDOFFTo turn off banks while scanning, press thebank’s number key until the bar under thebank’s number disappears. The scannerdoes not scan any of the channels within thebanks you have turned off.To turn on banks while scanning, press thebank’s number key until a bar appears underthe bank’s number.Notes:• You cannot turn off all banks. Theremust be at least one active bank.• You can manually select any channel ina bank, even if the bank is turned off.• When you turn on the bank whilescanning, the scanner moves to theselected bank's first channel andcontinues scanning.MONITORING A STOREDCHANNELYou can continuously monitor a specificchannel without scanning. This is useful ifyou hear an emergency broadcast on achannel and do not want to miss any details— even though there might be periods ofsilence — or if you simply want to monitorthat channel.Follow these steps to manually select achannel.1. Press MANUAL.2. Enter the channel number (1–200).3. Press MANUAL again.CLEARING A STOREDCHANNELIf you no longer want a frequency stored in achannel (and you do not want to replace thatfrequency with a different one), follow thesesteps to clear the stored frequency.1. Press MANUAL to exit the service banksor to stop scanning.2. Use the number keys to select thedesired channel number, then pressMANUAL.3. Press PGM. PGM appears.4. Press 0, then press ENTER. Thefrequency number changes to000.0000 to indicate the channel iscleared.
