29TroubleshootingInitializing the ScannerImportant: This procedure clears all infor-mation you stored in the scanner's memory.Initialize the scanner only when you are surethe scanner is not working properly.1. Turn off the scanner, then turn it onagain.2. Hold down MON/CL.3. While you hold down MON/CL, insert apointed object, such as a straightenedpaper clip, into the RESET opening onthe back of the scanner and gently pressthen release the reset button inside theopening. The display should clear.4. When the display reappears, releaseMON/CL.Note: You must release the reset buttonbefore you release MON/CL, otherwise thememory might not clear.CAREKeep the scanner dry; if it gets wet, wipe itdry immediately. Use and store the scanneronly in normal temperature environments.Handle the scanner carefully; do not drop it.Keep the scanner away from dust and dirt,and wipe it with a damp cloth occasionally tokeep it looking new.Modifying or tampering with the scanner’sinternal components can cause amalfunction and might invalidate its warrantyand void your FCC authorization to operateit.
