See Getting Started (on page 12)for more information.KX II devices come from the factory with default factory settings. Whenyou first power up and connect to the device, you must set the followingbasic parameters so the device can be accessed securely from thenetwork:1. Reset the administrator password. All KX II devices are shipped withthe same default password. Therefore, to avoid security breaches itis imperative that you change the admin password from raritan toone customized for the administrators who will manage the KX IIdevice.2. Assign the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway IP address toallow remote access.Setting ParametersTo set parameters, you must be logged on with administrative privileges.At the top level, you will see the "Username" > prompt, which for theinitial configuration is "admin". Enter the top command to return to thetop menu level.Note: If you have logged on with a different user name, that user namewill appear instead of admin.Setting Network ParametersNetwork parameters are configured using the interface command.admin > Config > Network > interface ipauto none ip192.168.151.12 mask 255.255.255.0 gw 192.168.151.1 modeautoWhen the command is accepted, the device automatically drops theconnection. You must reconnect to the device using the new IP addressand the user name and password you created in the resetting factorydefault password section.Important: If the password is forgotten, the KX II will need to bereset to the factory default from the Reset button on the back of theKX II. The initial configuration tasks will need to be performed againif this is done.
