Call Functions 31• End Call: Allows you to end the active call.If you are in a call, you can place the active call on hold byselecting the New Call option above and either dialing anothernumber or answering another incoming call. Once the secondcall has been activated, the following options are available.• Swap: Places the active call on hold and then re-activates the call onhold.• Join: Joins all of the calls you have established with your phone (bothactive and on hold) into a multi-party call.When you want to finish, end each call normally by pressing thekey.Using the Speakerphone During an Active CallWhile in an active call, it is possible to enable the speakerphonefeature.1. Dial the number and press .2. Once the call is answered, press to activate thespeakerphone.3. Use the Volume keys (located on the left side of yourphone) to adjust the volume.Important!: For more information, see “Responsible Listening” on page 139.Muting or Sending Keypad TonesThese options allow you to turn the key tones off or on. If theMute Keypad Tone option is selected, it allows you to press keyswithout hearing key tones during a call.Note: To communicate with answering machines or computerized telephonesystems, the Send Keypad Tone option must be selected.Switching off the Microphone (Mute)You can temporarily switch your phone’s microphone off, so thatthe other person cannot hear you.Example: You wish to say something to person in the room, but do not wantthe person on the phone to hear you.Note: If you are already in Video Share or you have a call on hold, you need toselect Mute/Unmute.To switch the microphone off temporarily during a call:1. Press the Mute soft key. The option is then replaced withUnmute.2. Press the Unmute soft key to deactivate the Mute functionand reactivate the microphone.
