Continueduse of an improperly calibrated platform overloadsystem could result in the system failing to sensean overloaded platform. The stability of themachine is compromised and it could tip over.How to C alibr ate the Pl atform Overl oad Sys temHow to Calibrate the PlatformOverload SystemNote: Perform this procedure with the machine ona firm, level surface and in the stowed positionwith the axles extended.1 Fully retract the boom. Level the platform.2 Remove all equipment or tools from theplatform. Remove the welder if equipped.3 Determine the maximum platform capacity.Refer to the machine serial plate.4 Push in the ground controls red EmergencyStop button to the off position.5 Turn the key switch to ground controls.6 Open the ground control box.7 Locate the calibration toggle switch at the topof the ground control box. Activate calibrationmode by moving the toggle switch in the leftdirection.8 Temporarily install a control box doorretaining fastener between the door and thebox to prevent the control box door frommoving the toggle switch while calibrating themachine.9 Remove the key from the main key switch.Insert the key into the bypass/recovery keyswitch and turn it to the bypass position.Note: The platform overload calibration values willnot be saved correctly unless the key switch is inthe bypass position and the calibration toggleswitch is activated.10 Press and hold the enter button on theground control panel while pulling out theground controls red Emergency Stop buttonto the on position. Hold the enter button forapproximately 5 seconds and then release it.11 Enter sensor calibration mode by pressing thebuttons at the ground controls in the followingsequence: (plus)(enter)(enter)(plus).12 Press the enter or previous button on theLCD screen until DELETE LOAD CELLFACTORY CALIBRATION is displayed.13 Press the plus button to select YES, thenpress the enter button to accept.14 Press the enter or previous button on theLCD screen until CALIBRATE LOAD CELLZERO is displayed.15 Press the plus button to select YES, thenpress the enter button to accept.16 Add weight to the platform corresponding tothe rated capacity of the machine, determinedin step 3. Place the weight near the centerentry point of the platform, farthest away fromthe rotator as possible.Note: The calibration weight may be ±5% of therated capacity. It is advisable that it be slightly lessthan the rated capacity.
