Service and Repair Manual May 2020Boom Components56 SX™-105 XC™ • SX™-125 XC™ Part No. 1271700GT1 cable break limit switch2 cable pulley5 Disconnect the wiring connector from thecable break limit switch.6 Tag, disconnect and plug the hydraulic hosesfrom the primary boom extension cylinder.Cap the fittings on the cylinder.Bodily injury hazard. Sprayinghydraulic oil can penetrate andburn skin. Loosen hydraulicconnections very slowly toallow the oil pressure todissipate gradually. Do notallow oil to squirt or spray.7 Remove the pulley pivot pin retainingfasteners from the number 2 boom tube at thepivot end of the boom.8 Remove the pulley pivot pins, cable guardsand pulleys.Note: When installing the pulleys, be sure that theside of the pulley with the taller flange is facing thecenter of the boom tube.9 Locate the number 3 boom tube extensioncable clevis pins on both sides of the number2 boom tube at the pivot end of the boom.10 Remove the cotter pin and clevis pin fromboth cables.Note: When installing a clevis pin, always replacethe cotter pin with a new one.11 Remove the lower external snap ring andwasher from the cable break limit switchactuator pivot pin.12 Remove the cable break actuator mountingplate retaining fasteners. Remove the lowerplate from the machine.13 Remove the upper plate and actuator pivotpin. Do not remove the cable break limitswitch from the mounting plate.14 Push the cable break actuator and cablestowards the platform end of the boomapproximately 18 inches / 46 cm.15 Remove the red cable adjustment lockingbracket retaining fasteners. Remove the redlocking bracket from the machine.Bodily injury hazard. Failure toinstall the red cable adjustmentlocking bracket will allow thecable mounting bolts to loosenand fall out which could resultin death or serious injury.16 Remove the two cable adjustment bolts.17 Remove the cable-end block mounting platefasteners. Remove the cable-end blockmounting plate from the machine.18 Remove the trunnion pin retaining fasteners.19 Use a slide hammer to remove the trunnionpins from the primary boom extensioncylinder.
