May 2020 Service and Repair ManualPlatform ComponentsPart No. 1271700GT SX™-105 XC™ • SX™-125 XC™ 37How to Perform a Zero Load CellCalibrationPerform this procedure when the required weightfor full load calibration is not available. Thisprocedure will re-calibrate the zero load pointwithout effecting a previous full load calibration. The platform load capacity will be reduced until afull load calibration has been performed. A full loadcalibration is required for rated load performance.Note: Perform this procedure with the machine ona firm, level surface.1 Fully retract the boom. Level the platform.2 Remove all equipment or tools from theplatform. Remove the welder if equipped.3 Push in the ground controls red EmergencyStop button to the off position.4 Turn the key switch to ground controls.5 Press and hold the enter button on theground control panel while pulling out theground controls red Emergency Stop buttonto the on position. Hold the enter button forapproximately 5 seconds and then release it.6 Enter sensor calibration mode by pressing thebuttons at the ground controls in the followingsequence: (plus)(enter)(enter)(plus).7 Press the enter or previous button on theLCD screen until CALIBRATE LOAD CELLZERO is displayed.8 Press the plus button to select YES, thenpress the enter button to accept.9 Press the enter or previous button on theLCD screen until EXIT is displayed.10 Press the plus button to select YES, thenpress the enter button to accept.11 Wait approximately 20 seconds and turn themachine off by pressing the red EmergencyStop button in.How to R eplac e t he Platform Ov erload Load C ellHow to Replace the Load CellSensorNote: The preload adjustment should only beperformed after the load cell sensor has beenreplaced..1 Remove all equipment or tools from theplatform. Remove the welder if equipped.2 At the platform, remove the plastic instructionholder from the document mount plate.3 Tag and disconnect the load cell sensorharness.4 Loosen the jam nut securing the load cellsensor foot and rotate the foot screwclockwise to remove the preload.5 Remove the fasteners securing the load cellsensor and remove the sensor.Install the new Load Cell Sensor6 Screw the foot with jam nut into the top of theload cell sensor until the foot bolt extends outof the bottom of the sensor. The foot shouldnot contact the flex plate when assemblingonto the platform support.7 Assemble the load cell and foot assembly tothe platform and securely tighten the twomounting screws. Torque the bolts to 101 ft-lbs / 137 Nm.Set the Load Cell Sensor Preload8 Rotate the foot screw counter clockwise untilthe foot just contacts the flex plate (fingertight).9 Using an open end wrench, continue to rotatethe foot counter clockwise an additional 1/2turn (180°). Then, while holding the foot bolt, securely tighten the jam nut. Torque the jamnut to 55 ft-lbs / 75 Nm.10 Attach the load cell sensor harness.11 Install the plastic instruction holder.12 Calibrate the platform overload system. Referto Repair Procedure How to Calibrate thePlatform Overload System.
