XES COMMAND LANGUAGE MODEAbout marginsThe most common place in the job to enter the margin settingsis after the Font ID Assignment or Font Change commands. Thisis because the font determines the orientation of the page. Referto “How the printer defines a page,“ for additional informationon page and font orientations. You can set:• All four margins for a page with the Margins command• One margin individually with the Margin Top, Margin Bottom,Margin Left, or Margin Right commands. All margins commands are cleared either by another Marginscommand or by a Reset command.More about page and font orientationsOn a page of single font orientation, if a change of setting forpage height and/or top margin is entered within the printablecontents of the page, the new setting goes into effect at thestart of the next page.On a page of mixed font orientation, when a change of settingfor page height and/or top margin follows a change oforientation, the new setting goes into effect immediately.Margin settings do not adjust automatically with a change oforientation. If a page is of mixed font orientation, the marginsshould be reset with each change. If margins from the previousorientation are used, the printer may interpret them as beingoutside the page boundaries; it then reverts to the defaultmargins.More about page boundariesNormally, the printer does not print beyond the right margin normake line-end decisions. Lines that are too long to fit within themargins will be cut off.Selecting a larger font after composing a page in a smaller fontcould cause your text to be cut off at the right margin.XEROX 4213 LASER PRINTER PROGRAMMER REFERENCE 2-39
