For troubleshooting problems associatedwith an error code or front panel error message, notes on how to use thetroubleshooting procedure tables, and how to use service diagnostics, see Chapter 3"Error Messages and Codes" on page 3-1. The Printer Status page also contains usefultroubleshooting information. This page provides general printer information, lifeinformation for all consumables, color registration/calibration information.Troubleshooting procedures will isolate a problem to a specific component orsubassembly, in some cases including the wiring harness. If you go through theprocedures in a troubleshooting table and still are unable to solve the problem, re-readthe Theory of Operations for the problem area and ensure that you understand howthat section of the printer is supposed to function.Printer Status PageThe Printer Status Page is a two page printout that provides a great deal of usefultroubleshooting information. Go to Troubleshooting/Service Tools/PrinterStatus Page and press OK to print these pages.The first page includes general information about the printer including firmwareversions, page count, feature set, and consumables installation dates and remaininglife. This page also provides color registration, calibration, and print target examples.The second page provides a rolling log of the last 50 printer faults with date, pagecount, description, and fault code. For troubleshooting information related to fault/error codes, refer to "Error Messages and Codes Summary Table" on page 3-17. Foradditional information, refer to the "Printer Status Codes" on page A-2.Power-Up ModesConnector J160, on the back edge of the Image Processor board allows selection ofvarious power-up modes of operation that can be used for troubleshooting purposes.To access these modes, turn off the power and connect a jumper between the pin orpins indicated with an X in the following table and either of ground pins (G) 1 or 6.Power-Up Mode SelectionMode Selection 1 2 3 4 5 6
