The VGA and audio ports provide the richest experience.VGA DisplayIf a VGA display is connected to the board, then the Starter Kit board displays graphicssimilar to that shown in Figure 1-3.Until one of the four push buttons around the rotary knob (Figure 2-5, page 27) is pressed,the display automatically rotates a graphic image and zooms in and out around the image.This is called “AutoPilot” mode. A brief text overview describing the board appears alongthe left edge. Blue text at the bottom of the screen presents the menu system.Rotary Knob/Push-Button Menu SystemThe Spartan-3A/3AN Starter Kit board demonstration design uses the rotary knob andsurrounding push-button switches, shown in Figure 2-5, page 27, to implement a menusystem. The menu display appears in blue text at the bottom of the VGA output.
