230 CHAPTER 28: MAC A DDRESS TABLE MANAGEMENTHiGig ports are special ports on modules for connecting the modules to thebackplane. HiGig ports can also learn and synchronize MAC addresses. With suchcharacteristics, HiGig ports may bring about the following issue:With MAC address learning disabled on a port and MAC address learningsynchronization between module chips enabled globally (See “Configuring MACAddress Learning Synchronization Between Module Chips” on page 229), if thepackets received on the port are to be forwarded or broadcast through HiGig portsto the ports of other module chips, those chips will learn the MAC address entrywhose source MAC address matches the ingress port and synchronize the entryback to the chip of the ingress port through MAC address learningsynchronization between module chips. This causes the configuration of disablingMAC address learning on the ingress port to be ineffective. To address this issue, you can disable HiGig ports from learning MAC addresses.n The above-mentioned command is not available for the following modules:3C16860, 3C16861, LS81FS24A, 3C16858, 3C16859, LS8M1PT4GB0,LS8M1PT8GB0, LS81PT4GA, and LS81PT8GA.Setting the processingmethod for the specificpacketsYou can use the following commands to configure whether or not the packetswith destination MAC address being the bridge MAC address of the switch will bepassed to CPU for processing.Displaying andMaintaining MACAddress ConfigurationTo verify your configuration, you can display information about the MAC addresstable by executing the display command in any view.Table 159 Disable HiGig ports from learning MAC addressesOperation Command DescriptionEnter system view system-view -Disable HiGig ports fromlearning MAC addresseshigig-port mac-learningdisable slot-numberOptionalBy default, HiGig ports areenabled to learn MACaddresses.Table 160 Set the processing method for the specific packetsOperation Command DescriptionEnter system view system-view -Enable the packets withdestination MAC address asthe bridge MAC address of theswitch to be passed to the CPUfor processingbridgemactocpu enable OptionalBy default, the packets withdestination MAC address asthe bridge MAC address ofthe switch are not passed tothe CPU for processing.Disable the packets withdestination MAC address asthe bridge MAC address of theswitch from being passed tothe CPU for processingbridgemactocpu disable Optional
