940 CHAPTER 86: C ONFIGURING HARDWARE -DEPENDENT SOFTWARESwitch Chip Auto-resetConfigurationConfiguring CPUUsage ThresholdIntroduction 3Com Switch 7750 Ethernet switches are layer-2/layer-3 Ethernet switches withmultiple slots and of high reliability. CPUs of Fabrics and I/O Modules can processdata. In actual networking, they may receive many requests for data/packetprocessing at the same time due to large traffic or complicated networking. Theserequests occupy many CPU resources and affect network stability.Switch 7750 Ethernet switches support CPU usage threshold configuration. Whenthe CPU usage exceeds the configured threshold, the switch sends trap messagesand log messages, according to which the network administrator can modify theswitch configuration.Switch 7750 Ethernet switches also support configuration of the CPU usagethreshold of the specified module. You can specify slot slot-number to configurethe CPU usage threshold for the specified module. When the CPU usage of themodule in the specified slot exceeds the configured threshold, the switch sendstrap messages and log messages to the network administrator. If you set CPU thresholds for both all the modules and the specified module, theCPU threshold of the specified module is determined by the latter one. Forexample, if you set the CPU usage threshold of all the modules to 88 and set thatof the module in slot 2 to 77, the CPU usage threshold of the module in slot 2 is77.CPU Usage ThresholdConfigurationTable 727 Configure switch chip auto-resetOperation Command DescriptionEnter system view system-view -Enable the function ofmonitoring internalchannelsmonitor inner-channel RequiredEnable switch chipauto-resetmonitor slot slot-idenableRequiredBy default, switch chips cannot bereset automatically when the internalchannel handshake failsDisable switch chipauto-resetmonitor slot slot-iddisableOptionalTable 728 Configure CPU usage thresholdOperation Command DescriptionEnter system view system-view -Configure CPU usagethresholdcpu-usage-threshold value[ slot slot- id ]RequiredBy default, this function isdisabled.
