Section 3 Configuration3.1 Introduction SEMOD120082-1 v1SEMOD120089-4 v9There are two different software alternatives with which the IED can be ordered. The intention is that these configurations shall suit most applications with minor orno changes. The few changes required on binary input and outputs can be donefrom the signal matrix tool in the PCM600 engineering platform.Only the main PMU reporting function (first instance) is switched On at delivery. The other PMU reporting function (second instance) and all the protectionfunctions are switched Off at delivery. Back-up functions that are not generallyused are also set to Off.The configurations are:• A20 – Phasor Measurement Unit, 3 bays, single busbar, 12AI (9I+3U)• B20 – Phasor Measurement Unit, 6 bays, double busbar, 24AI (9I+3U , 9I+3U)All IEDs can be reconfigured with the help of the Application Configuration Tool(ACT) in the PCM600 engineering platform. The IED can be adapted to specialapplications and special logic can be developed. On request, ABB is available to support the re-configuration work, either directlyor to do the design checking.Optional functions and optional IO ordered, will not be configured at delivery. Itmeans that the user shall configure and add them to the standard configuration. Itshould be noted that the standard only includes one binary input and one binaryoutput module and only the important outputs such as protection function alarmsare connected to the outputs. The required total IO must be calculated and specifiedat ordering.Hardware modules are configured with the hardware configuration tool in thePCM600 engineering platform.1MRK 511 407-UEN C Section 3ConfigurationPhasor measurement unit RES670 2.2 IEC 41Application manual
