3-5Installing SCSI DevicesConnecting External SCSI DevicesThe SCSI Card 2930CU has one 50-pin high-density externalconnector. You will need a high-quality 50-pin high-densityexternal SCSI cable for each external SCSI device you areconnecting. External SCSI cables are not included in the SCSI Card2930CU kit. Refer to Chapter D, Obtaining SCSI Cables for moreinformation.To connect external SCSI devices1 Ensure that each external SCSI device has a unique SCSI ID from 0to 6. For most external SCSI devices, the SCSI ID is set with aswitch on the back of the device, as shown. Refer to the SCSIdevice’s documentation for instructions on setting the SCSI ID.Note: Each device connected to your SCSI Card 2930CU(both internal and external) must have a unique SCSI IDfrom 0 to 6. You cannot use the same SCSI ID twice.2 If your computer is running, turn it off and disconnect the powercord.3 Connect one end of an external SCSI cable to the SCSI Card 2930CUexternal SCSI connector. Secure the cable by tightening thescrews on the cable connector.Note: Avoid touching the device connector pins.SCSI ID
