5-2Troubleshooting On some computers, you can set up configuration options whenthe computer first boots up (through CMOS setup). If yourcomputer has this feature, check that these options are set up asspecified: Interrupt Type or Interrupt Line option is set to Int-A orInterrupt Type = A. (Also check the motherboard jumpersetting). Triggering Interrupt option is set to Level. Bus mastering for the PCI slots is set to Enabled. Refer toyour computer documentation for more information on busmastering. PCI slot in which the SCSI Card 2930CU is installed is set toEnabled. If your computer has a combination of ISA (or EISA) andPCI boards, you may need to mark the IRQs used by ISA/EISA boards as Used so the computer BIOS will not try toassign these IRQs to other PCI boards. In some computers the BIOS reserves a set of available IRQsfor PCI boards, and you have to assign these IRQs manually. Some configuration options apply to a specific PCI bus slot,so if you change any option be sure you are applying thechange to the correct slot. Check your computerdocumentation to determine the correct PCI bus slot.If you still experience problems, try installing the SCSI Card2930CU in another PCI slot, starting with the first PCI slot. If, after working through this checklist, you are still unable toresolve a problem, check the questions and answers in the nextsection or refer to the Adaptec Web site at www.adaptec.com foradditional troubleshooting information.
