The Tour andSport Modes will feel similar on asmooth road. Select a new settingwhenever driving conditions change.Tour ModeUse for normal city and highwaydriving to provide a smooth,soft ride.Sport ModeUse where road conditions orpersonal preference demand a morecontrolled response.When selected, the Sport Modeindicator will display in the DriverInformation Center (DIC).When in Sport Mode, the vehicle willshift automatically but hold a lowergear longer than it would in thenormal driving mode based onbraking, throttle input, and vehiclelateral acceleration. See AutomaticTransmission on page 9-23. Thesteering will change to provide moreprecise control. If the vehicle hasMagneRide, the suspension willchange to provide better corneringperformance. Competitive DrivingMode can be accessed throughthis mode.Snow/Ice ModeUse when more traction is neededduring slippery conditions. Thetransmission will use 2 (Second)gear instead of 1 (First) gear whenaccelerating from a stop. Thevehicle will upshift normally whenthe vehicle is moving. TheLF3 models will use a differentaccelerator pedal map instead ofusing 2 (Second) gear from stop.The accelerator pedal will reduceengine torque at small pedal inputs.The transmission will also shiftdifferently to assist in maintainingtraction.When selected, the Snow/Ice Modeindicator will display in the DIC.This feature is not intended for usewhen the vehicle is stuck in sand,mud, ice, snow, or gravel. If thevehicle becomes stuck, see If theVehicle Is Stuck on page 9-10.Track Mode (LF3 Only)Use when maximum vehiclehandling is desired.When selected, the Track Modeindicator will display in the DIC.When in Track Mode, the automatictransmission and steering willfunction similar to Sport Mode. Theaccelerator pedal is adjusted to givemaximum control during the highestlevel of spirited driving. TheMagneRide will be set to theoptimum level for vehicleresponsiveness. Competitive DrivingMode can be accessed throughthis mode.Competitive Driving Mode(LF3 Only)To select this optional handlingmode, press the Y button quicklytwo times and the DIC will displaythe appropriate message.
