There are three modes to adjustimage quality: the Image Quality Adjustment mode, Color Balance mode, and One Touch Colormode.IMPORTANTFor information on the modes which cannot be set in combination with this mode, see "UnavailableCombination of Functions," on p. 9-6.Image Quality AdjustmentYou can scan the original by erasing the background colour or prevent the original image on thereverse side of thin originals from appearing on the copies.IMPORTANT• If [A] (Auto) is selected as the scan/copy exposure on the Scan screen or the Copy Basic Featuresscreen, pressing [Image Qual. Adjustment] and making fine adjustments cancels the automatic copy/scan exposure setting. Similarly, if you select [A] (Auto) for the scan/copy exposure setting when imagequality adjustments have been made, the Image Quality Adjustment mode is cancelled and theautomatic exposure is used instead.• To automatically adjust the quality of the background, select [A] (Auto) for the scan/copy exposure.
