S611 Soft Starter MN03902011E—May 2012 www.eaton.com 25SetupAfter all power and control connections have been made and you have read and understood thedifferent operating modes and protection features of the soft starter, set the Operations andProtection parameters for your application. In many cases, only the Motor FLA parameter requiresadjustment to the proper value, and all other parameters may be used with the default values forthe initial Start. Review the Advanced Protection options of the S611 shown in Appendix B—Protection and select the appropriate ones for your application.Initial Configuration1. The S611 Operation and Protection parameters may be edited using only 120 Vac controlpower applied to 120 Vac Supply (TB1). Mains power is not required to edit and saveOperation and/or Protection parameters. If any 120 Vac power source other than the normal system control power source is used topower the control circuit to edit parameters, connections must be made in compliance with alllocal, state, and national electrical codes.2. In the Operation mode, set the operating parameters to the desired values. These settingsassume the motor has a 1.15 service factor.Operating Parameters—StandardOperating Parameter Units Min Max Default NotesMotor FLA Amps Motor FLA parametermust be set to motornameplate FLA toachieve proper overloadprotectionFrame Size A–52 26 52 26Frame Size A–65 32.5 65 32.5Frame Size A–77 38.5 77 38.5Frame Size B–99 48 99 48Frame Size B–125 62.5 125 62.5Frame Size C–156 78 156 78Frame Size C–180 90 180 90Frame Size D–242 120 242 120Frame Size E–302 151 302 151Frame Size E–361 180.5 361 180.5Frame Size F–414 207 414 207Motor rated voltage Volts 200 600 480 —Start method — 0 2 0 0 = Voltage ramp1 = Current limitStart time Seconds 0.5 180 20 —Initial torque % 0 100 45 —Stop time Seconds 0 60 0 —Kick start time Seconds 0 2 0 —Kick start torque % 0 100 0 —Auto reset mode — 0 1 0 0 = Manual1 = AutoAdvanced config — N/A N/A N/A —www.comoso.com
