Keysight B2900 User’s Guide, Edition 5 6-27Function DetailsTrigger SystemTrigger SystemB2900 supports the ARM-TRIGGER model described in 1999 SCPI CommandReference. Operation summary of this trigger model is described below. Also seeFigure 6-8.The trigger system can be initiated by pressing the Trigger key on the front panel. For the trigger setup parameters, see “Trigger parameters” on page 4-17 and“Trigger Configuration dialog box” on page 4-38.1. Moves to the ARM layer if the trigger system was initiated.2. Waits for the ARM event which is a signal from the ARM trigger source.3. Moves to the TRIGGER layer if the ARM event was detected and the ARMdelay time elapsed.4. Waits for the TRIGGER event which is a signal from the TRIGGER triggersource.5. Executes the device action if the TRIGGER event was detected and theTRIGGER delay time elapsed.6. Repeats 4 and 5 until the TRIGGER count reaches the specified count. And thenmoves to the ARM layer.7. Repeats 2 to 6 until the ARM count reaches the specified count. And then movesto the Idle layer. This trigger model is applied to two device actions, Transient (source output) andAcquire (measurement) independently. Two actions can start simultaneously orseparately. Also for the 2-channel models, two channels can perform synchronous operation orasynchronous operation.NOTE Auto keyThe Auto key sets the operation of the trigger system to AUTO or off.In the AUTO status, the channel in the DC output status (On/Off switch is ON)repeats measurement (Acquire device action) under the predefined triggerconditions. The Transient device action is not performed. For the predefined trigger conditions, see “Auto” on page 4-3.
