CAN/LIN Triggering and Serial Decode 23Keysight InfiniiVision 2000 X-Series Oscilloscopes User's Guide 311For LIN 1.2 signals, use the LIN 1.3 setting. The LIN 1.3 setting assumes thesignal follows the "Table of Valid ID Values" as shown in section A.2 of the LINSpecification dated December 12, 2002. If your signal does not comply with thetable, use the LIN 2.0 setting.12 Press the Sync Break softkey and select the minimum number of clocks thatdefine a sync break in your LIN signal.LIN TriggeringTo set up the oscilloscope to capture a LIN signal, see “Setup for LIN Signals" onpage 309.LIN triggering can trigger on the rising edge at the Sync Break exit of the LINsingle-wire bus signal (that marks the beginning of the message frame), theFrame ID, or the Frame ID and Data.A LIN signal message frame is shown below:1 Press [Trigger].2 In the Trigger Menu, press the Trigger softkey; then, turn the Entry knob toselect the serial slot (Serial 1) on which the CAN signal is being decoded.3 Press the Trigger: softkey; then, turn the Entry knob to select the triggercondition:• Sync (Sync Break) — The oscilloscope triggers on the rising edge at the SyncBreak exit of the LIN single-wire bus signal that marks the beginning themessage frame.SyncBreakIdentifierBreakSync Break ExitSyncFieldChecksumFieldDataFields
